Take’n Organizational Behavior today…keep me in your prayers.
Tomorrow Morning I’ll be taking yet ANOTHER CLEP test. MacroEconomics. For some odd reason I’ve read the info over and over again, but it wasn’t till tonight that any of it’s stuck…so pray that it’ll be here tomorrow morning. All this studying is taking a toll on my body, and health, so pray I can get some rest before I pay for it. Thank you everyone down here for your support through this process, and to you northern friends thanks for your prayers. God Bless all….from a very tired and frustrated Tom.

I know it seems like the only time I ever update is when I’m taking a test…but it’s really only the night before(when I’m up till 4-5am, that I find the time to load on and update. No, I guess the real fact is…I’m lazy. You heard me, the kid that work’s full-time, and is completing four yrs of college in one, is lazy! Well anyway, I’m taking another test tomorrow…and I could use some pray. I’ll be taking Microeconomics tomorrow morning (Lord willing I pass it), and then I’ll take Macroeconomics next friday. This particular test is interesting, because I’ve been receiving mixed reports on it. Some say its easy, some say it’s hard…so just keep me in your prayers.

When I arrive at work, I usually read up on the news before I even hit the “work”, and today some news caught my eye that I figured I’d share with you.
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will focus “at the right time” on how to overturn the “don’t ask, don’t tell” ban on gays serving openly in the military, his national security adviser said Sunday.
“I don’t think it’s going to be – it’s not years, but I think it will be teed up appropriately,” James Jones said.
The Democratic-led Congress is considering repealing the 1993 law. Action isn’t expected on the issue until early next year.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., recently wrote Obama and Defense Secretary Robert Gates asked to share their views and recommendations on the contentious policy. In Sept. 24 letters, Reid also asked for a review of the cases of two U.S. officers who were discharged from the military because of their sexuality.
“At a time when we are fighting two wars, I do not believe we can afford to discharge any qualified individual who is willing to serve our country,” Reid wrote.
Jones said Obama “has an awful lot on his desk. I know this is an issue that he intends to take on at the appropriate time. And he has already signaled that to the Defense Department. The Defense Department is doing the things it has to do to prepare, but at the right time, I’m sure the president will take it on.”
As a candidate, Obama signaled support for repealing the law. To the disappointment of gay-rights supporters, he has yet to made a move since taking office in January. The White House has said it will not stop the military from dismissing gays and lesbians who acknowledge their sexuality.
Last year, 634 members of the military were discharged for being gay, or .045 percent of the active-duty U.S. force, according to an Aug. 14 congressional report.
The largest number of gays who were ousted under the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy came in 2001, when 1,227 were discharged, or .089 of the force.
The House is considering legislation to repeal “don’t ask, don’t tell” and allow people who have been discharged under the policy to rejoin the military.
Jones appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union.
It’s a sad day when people thing that those who commit one of the most horrendous sins of all time should be allowed to protect and defend us. How long will it be before the Military HAS to have a “Blank” percentage of sodomites in the military? These are people that will be receiving government financial aid for the rest of their days…how many are you willing to support through their fight with AIDS?
Now on a funnier note….
this movie reminded me so much of Nathans Law Office..

A quick announcement, today at 8am-noon I will be taking two tests. Principals of Management(a CLEP), and Business Math(my first Dantes). This is my first time taking two tests back to back, and will most likely be a decision point to see if this is something I want to continue to do. I was supposed to take Business Math on Tuesday, but I was waiting for my new DL to come in the mail(which now has), so though I’ve gotten to study a little more it’s actually made me study less intensely. Then I’ve got Principals of Management, and I really haven’t studied much for(that is comparison to what I’d like to give it). I’ve got 39credits, bout 1/3 of the Bachelors done. Once I take these two tests(pass/fail) I’ll be studying/taking a new test every week till Christmas.
A little about the internship:
Though it seems to be going really well, it’s extremely stressful…and thinks are definitely tight. If anyone would like to send me a note telling me about how things are going on in your life, I think it would pull my attention a little bit away from my stresses( just comment, and I’ll email you my new address. )
BTW, I’m looking at reviving the old update schedule.http://the-del-clan.com/2008/06/..seeing I’ve gotten into more of a groove down here in my studies. Also I’m thinking of adding a few new features, but have yet to do some research. If any of you have any great ideas about what you’d like to see more of, just tell me…I’m just mentally distant at the moment, so a pull back to reality would be great.
Love you all, and miss my homies up North in WI, and IL…and the hot weather really stinks here.

Just as the title states, there is a reason that I have not be updating my blog…mostly because I’ve been studying. actually, the only reason is because I’ve been studying. For the past two weeks I’ve been studying for College Math CLEP test, and I have to say that it hasn’t been going very well. I’ve never been super gifted in the area of math, but I was no dummy. But sadly as I’ve found, 4yrs of no school has a very bad effect on your scholastic memory. Tomorrow when I take this test I will have to rely completely on the Lord for strength, for there is nothing that I have that can get me through. There is no amount of studying, memorizing of formula’s that has helped me in my battle for a passing score.
So, again I say…Tomorrow between 9-11 please be praying for me. I will need all you’ve got.
This weekend I’ll be able to fill you all in on whats been going on in my life(possibly ever pics)

Basic run down on life.
1. John Sauve(an old acquaintance from MI) has come down for a short time to work at CP!, working the same position I have. He’s now sleeping in the other room, so the bedding setup is (Room1: Arron, Jason, and Tom (Room2: Micah, Travis, and John. Though things are rather tight with 6 guys in a room, I think we’re working and studying enough to keep our minds off of the “annoying” stuff and just work through the “needed” issues.
2. We’ve redesigned the Cooking/Cleaning schedule to reflect the 6 guy layout. Also, We’ve seen a great increase in the cleanliness, and organization of the apartment in general.
3. As for the College front of things… I’ve passed four tests in four weeks, and an now working on College Math(a rather hard test). I now have 33 college credits under my belt(a combo of what I’ve passed and what I already had). After talking with my Coach the other week, my plan is to have around 80-90 credits by Xmas Vacation. That would put me at finishing mid-spring of 10′ …..No guarantees, but that’s the plan
4. My Mercedes is running like a charm(thank you Lord).
5. …I’m getting used to the heat a little bit more :O…I know, it’s a huge shock!
I’ll try to upload some pics eventually, but it’s hard to take them while participating.
